Recent Update About 5 Pointz…

A lot of New Yorkers are familiar with the graffiti mecca known as 5 Pointz. Last night the owners of the building whitewashed the building between 3:00am-7:00am.  Building owner, Jerry Wolkoff, said this was to avoid confrontation.

I spent a lot of time over the summer getting to know the artists at 5 Pointz and their stories, and their dedication for keeping the art scene alive in NYC.

We’re now living in an era, where it’s impossible to find little hints of what New York used to be.  It’s a different place than it was when I got here 15 years ago.  I’ve grown with it, and I still love it, but the commercialization of the city and the outer boroughs is getting to be a little much.

This is simply what I’m stating:

Jerry Wolkoff doesn’t have the best track record with keeping his promises of grandeur and building residential properties, just look at this link:

Actions speak louder than words…

I interviewed Mr. Wolkoff over the summer.  I spoke with him over the phone, he told me I sounded like a “nice young kid”, and he invited me to come to Long Island and we had a nice long chat where he talked “at” me for two hours about his real feelings about 5 Pointz, which are completely different than the ones that have been stated since the whitewashing of the building over the past 24 hours.

It’s easy to knock something down…a man is only as good as his word.

More information on my interview with Jerry Wolkoff by the end of the week.

In the meantime…I have about 2 hours of interview notes to peruse.

Stay tuned.

Shameless self promotion…and well, that’s about it…

Hello All.

I apologize for the lack of blogs lately.  Rather than write about some random things, here is a link to my recent work on contently.

All is well.  I’m a little perturbed that the Times canned our “Vows” story.  I took it personally, but the upside is that I have a totally awesome husband, and I did lose some weight, because, well I took it personally and felt shunned by the Times.  No matter.  Upward and onward. More to come.
